Getting Ahead Of The Curve: Setting Up Summer 2026 For (Comfort) Success
As spring draws closer here in the Charleston area, the days are starting to get longer – and warmer.
While we have our spring HVAC to-do list from last year you can review, it’s never too early to start setting yourself up for the summer heat.
In fact, the sooner you prepare, you’ll likely feel less stress when that summer heat starts to creep in.
Part of that preparation is turning your attention toward your home’s HVAC system.
A working HVAC system – whether you have a traditional heat pump or ductless mini-split system – isn’t just a “nice-to-have” – it’s a necessity.
A functioning heating and air conditioning system is nice – having one that’s at the top of its game is even better.
Here’s what you can do to make sure your system stays at the top of its game this summer in the Lowcountry,
1. Get That Replacement Project Scheduled
If you happen to be in a situation where your system is old, needing frequent repairs and barely making through each season, get that replacement scheduled ASAP.
As summer approaches, local HVAC companies get booked up quickly.
While there are many options here in the Charleston area, if you want to work with your favorite local company it’s a good idea to reach out to them early this spring.
Waiting until the last minute can mean missing out on the best HVAC installation experience you and your family deserve – something that can put your comfort plans in limbo this summer.
2. Schedule Your Annual Maintenance Visit
Preventative maintenance for HVAC systems is one of the most important tasks for any homeowner in the Charleston area.
If your system is in good shape – keep it that way – by signing up for preventative maintenance and scheduling your annual maintenance visits.
These visits enable you to not only catch up with your favorite HVAC technician, but also sniff out any issues you may face this summer.
Prevention is often the best medicine – and even moreso with your homes HVAC system.
3. Shore Up “Hot Spots”
If you’re like a lot of homeowners in the Charleston area, your home may have some areas that aren’t as comfortable during our hottest times of year here.
You’re not alone — depending on when your home was built and how your HVAC system was designed when it was installed, it’s very common for some areas to feel warmer throughout your home.
There could be larger issues (like a poorly sized HVAC system), but looking at ductless mini-split systems can be a great way to get more control over those areas.
This is especially a great option if that area doesn’t have any ductwork running to it.
As always, with any system you end up installing, replacing, repairing or maintaining this spring, if it’s backed by a rock-solid HVAC company, you’ll be in great hands this summer and beyond.
Summers are brutal – but even more brutal with a poor air conditioning system.
Stay ahead of the curve this spring – stay cool and be kind, Lowcountry.
