Lowcountry Families: Here’s What A Great HVAC Maintenance Plan Should Include
With spring now officially here in the Lowcountry and temperatures hitting a more comfortable range, HVAC might not be at the top of your list.
A few weeks ago Katy mentioned in her spring to-do list to make sure you get signed up for a regular maintenance plan for your heating and air conditioning system.
Not getting the right maintenance plan in place can mean missed system needs – hot & uncomfortable summers.
With so many HVAC companies to choose from and each offering an array of maintenance packages, all a little bit different it might be difficult to understand what should be included.
To help you out, below are some key bullet points that we think a proper maintenance plan should include to make sure you’re covered this summer 2025.
1. Annual Visits
A proper maintenance plan should include two annual visits – one before the summer season and one before the cooler/winter season.
Many of the issues that homeowner encounter will happen when your system is operating more often (as in during the summer and winter), so it’s extremely important
2. Inspection & Testing
Your HVAC system has both electrical and mechanical components that work together to make your system function.
A good maintenance plan should include inspection of both of these component types.
3. Drain Clearing
Your HVAC system uses a drain to move water away from its internal components during the cooling process.
Often these can clog, which can cause further damage for your system – your maintenance plan should include an inspection and clearing of this drain.
4. Refrigerant Level Readings
Refrigerant is a chemical compound used in HVAC systems to move heat from one place to another.
When these levels get low, it could affect system performance – make sure these levels are checked during your maintenance visit.
5. Extra Perks
During your maintenance visit your HVAC technician may encounter items that need to be fixed or replaced.
A good maintenance plan could include special discounts for replacement parts if needed.
Other perks like priority scheduling could be included as well.
If you’re like many families in the Lowcountry, you’re incredibly busy – non-stop, at times.
HVAC can be one of the last things on your mind, but you don’t want to run into any issues during our (very) hot summer season here.
With a proper family maintenance plan in place with your trusted Lowcountry local HVAC company it can help make sure your family has a more pleasant, comfortable summer this year in the Lowcountry.
